New Addition to the Family

Oh, I am so proud. We are adding to our little family. I am expecting a special delivery package to arrive very soon. Although she has not yet been named I did get the technician to give us a pre-delivery picture I could show to friends.

What a beauty.

It seems Rans wants to clean out the back room and their loss is definitely my gain.  I have a few really nice components sitting around and this is just the winter project they have been waiting for.  She should arrive late this week or early next so keep a watch here for details of the build.  I chose the steel frame over the aluminum in the hope that it would have a bit more give to it as opposed to the road bump vibrations I have experienced from my past aluminum frames.  If my V2 is any indication, I am in for a treat.

The Current Stable

From left to right: Action Bent Apoyo Trike; Rans V2 LWB; Action Bent Tango SWB; Trident Stowaway Foldable Trike

As of today my current recumbent stable consists of 4 fine machines.  My first and still my favorite is the Action Bent Apoyo Trike.  This is a 20/26 trike with what looks like a lawn chair attached to the front as a seat, webbing and all.  It is extremely comfortable and after some tweaking of components a blast to ride.

Action Bent Apoyo

Number 2 is technically my first LWB bicycle and in the short time I have owned it I love every aspect of it.  It is a Rans V2 with a fairing (wife says the fairing makes me look like a sissy).  It climbs well and will cruise at a very respectable speed.  The only problem I have with it is that my son has become a convert after one long ride.  I see a LWB bike in his future just so I can get mine back.

My third is an Action Bent Tango.  It took some work but I now have a silent chain drive on this baby and it is a blast riding it in stealth mode. I have a headrest project coming for this one.  I already have a ton wrapped up in it but it is fun and I never stop tinkering.

Tango (aluminum version)

Number four is a Trident Stowaway Trike I will have temporarily (don’t know how long that temporary will be). It is a really great trike and folds quickly into a trunk capable package.   This is a solidly built 20″ trike all the way around and is geared for climbing but I think I really like the Apoyo a bit more.
